With an accent of providing aIl integrated subjects on medical education within Manipal, the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences took shape in 1963 as part of the Kasturba Medical College. The College offers diploma course, a bachelor’s degree and also has facilities for Post Graduate Studies and research leading Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
COPS offers a one and half year (three Semesters) M. Pharm degree in the branches of Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology and Pharmacy Administration. Choice electives are offered which are inter disciplinary like Clinical Pharmacy, Biopharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics, Chemical Pharmacology, Drug Information Systems etc. Doctoral programme leading to Ph.D. degree is available in all the branches of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
This College is publishing the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Education which is the first of its kind in Asia and second such journal in the world.
